Operational Definitions

Injuries or fatalities in all road accidents in which public transport vehicles are involved, including pedestrians and passengers and drivers of vehicles other than public transport. Public transport refers to public buses, public light buses, taxis, trams and light rail vehicles.

All figures are collected from Transport Department since 1997.
Data on injuries and fatalities (actual figures) on other public transport operators are previously not included for 1981, 86, 91 and 96. Upon HKCSS request, Transport Department provided actual figures for 1997-2008 in data collection for SDI 2010.
